Fashion's Night Out

As many of you know September 6 was the annual Fashion's Night Out. This year's trip to FNO turned out to be most excellent. I wasn't to excited to go after a disapointing time last year, but my night just got better and better. Here are some highlights of what went down that night for me and my friend Victoria.

We started our night down on 14th Street to see the new pop- up shop for Target where 4 new store concepts were being debuted for the first time ever. Kirna Zabete, The Curiosity Shop, Odin, and Patch NYC each had their own little booth decorated towards there esthetic. The shop owners were all present as was the ever funny, Ross Mathews. Great music, food, and shopping.

With no real plan we began walking around to see what looked cool, and as we walked past DVF we passed none other than Diane Von Furstenberg herself! Literally within arms length of me, a very cool moment.

Later down the road we stopped by the Alice + Olivia roof top slumber party complete with model pillow fights. The sun was setting completing a beautiful view as the models lounged inside a mock boxing ring playing pillow fight.

After browsing the racks at Alice + Olivia the sun had set, and it was beginning to get pretty hopping outside. We popped by the Maybelline tent to shop at the makeup vending machine recieving a free cosmetic. Mine happened to be a personal favorite, a new lipstick in Revival Red. Maybelline model Erin Wasson was there strutting her stuff, dancing to the music, and mingling with fans.

And our final stop, the grand finale..... the QVC tent. Not really knowing what we were getting into we wandered into QVC and hopped on the first line we saw. After doing a little investigating we found out that we happened to be 5th in line for none other than ANNA WINTOUR! Thats right, the Editor in Chief of Vogue magazine was going to be there signing copies of September Vogue. As a Fashion student that moment was glorious. Being able to meet her was deinfelty the best part of my night. Anna Wintour started Fashion's Night Out so to be able to end my night meeting the woman who started the whole reason I was there was amazing.

...one final moment. Walking back to the subway we found some guys painted head to toe as zombies complete with white eye contacts. Creepiest, most cool thing ever. If I had seen them in a dark alley at night I may not have been so excited, but having them posing Benny Ninja style on the corner was definetly awsome. Only in New York City. <3
